Denver Comic Con

At Denver Comic Con 2016, the Order attended its first big event since Stellaris back in in May. It was miles upon miles of nerdy heaven, from the games, to the panels, to the glorious costumes. But for us, the […]

Stellaris Multiplayer: The Rise and Fall of the Loreswarm

What is victory? A pertinent question I asked the webcam as twilight had come for my warmongering, insectoid empire. By the common sense definition, we were not among the victors in this 20+ player, interstellar brawl taking place at an array of computers in Old Windsor, England – the first of its kind involving players outside of Paradox. As with so many great empires, The Loreswarm had undergone a meteoric rise before collapsing into so much space dust. But as the overmind of the chittering masses, I chose to focus on other standards of victory. The mark we left on the galaxy would not soon be erased.

Totally Towable: A video account of our crazy, cross-country move

In the fall of 2015, we moved from the Bay Area in California to Northern Colorado to establish the home base of the Loresworn Order. This totally-not-emulating-any-famous-British-car-shows presentation is an account of that journey. Enjoy!

Loresworn Does NaNoWriMo! – Spheres on Hiatus Until 2016

Loresworn Order’s illustrious authors and Beyond co-creators T.J. and D.M. are participating in National Novel Writing Month! D.M. will be churning out a draft of Justice: Book Two of the Aidan Grayson Saga, and T.J. will be… making some amount of headway on the research-intensive historical fantasy beast that is Merlin: Book One of the Dragon Cycle. Be sure to follow @LoreswornOrder on Twitter to keep up with our progress and exploits!

Due to this large time commitment, our short story series, Spheres, will be going on hiatus until early 2016. Get caught up with the story so far!

Let us know if you’re participating as well. We’d love to hear about your stories!

The Order Reacts: World of Warcraft: Legion expansion announced

We’re not a news site, but we often like to react to the news around our favorite games and other media. That’s what this column is about. Today, massive Warcraft lore nerd T.J. Hafer (he’s basically second in line behind Red Shirt Guy) reacts to today’s announcement of the latest World of Warcraft expansion, Legion, at Gamescom in Germany.

The sixth expansion for World of Warcraft has been announced, and it’s focusing on the Burning Legion. Long-time Warcraft fans like myself might find this odd, considering the Legion has already been defeated in the War of the Ancients. And again in Warcraft 3. And again in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. But thanks to all the weird time travel shit that happened in Warlords of Draenor, they’re back for what Blizzard is quick to describe as their most significant invasion of Azeroth yet. Also, Illidan is back from the dead for some reason.

Yeah, Warcraft has basically turned into a comic book universe where cool characters never actually stay dead. But maybe that’s not such a bad thing.

Welcome to The Order

Hello everyone. My name is T.J., and it is my great honor to be the first to welcome you to the home of The Loresworn Order. You can read more about us by clicking “The Order” up in the navbar, but in short, this is a creative collaboration put together by some very good friends and myself. We’ve each taken a crack at producing content on someone else’s terms and under someone else’s banner. Now, we’re ready to make our own rules and carry our own standard.
